HOW WE WORK WITH BUILDERS
We’ve worked with builders all over Auckland. We slot into your build programme. We coordinate with the gib stoppers, painters, kitchen fitters, and bathroom installers. We’re easy to deal with and we don’t hold up the build.
If you’re an architect or designer, send us your plans early. We’ll spec the electrical to match and flag anything that won’t work before you’re committed.
WHAT NEW BUILD ELECTRICAL COVERS
PREWIRE STAGE
Cables run through the frames before the gib goes on. Outlet locations marked. Switching planned. This is where most of the work happens.
FIT-OFF STAGE
After the painters are done. Power points, switches, light fittings, switchboard finalised. Everything labelled and tested.
SWITCHBOARD INSTALL
New, modern switchboard sized for the house. RCDs and surge protection standard.
COUNCIL INSPECTION SUPPORT
We arrange and attend the electrical inspection. Compliance certificates handed to your builder for the CCC.

When should I bring the electrician in?
As early as possible. Ideally at consent stage so we can review the plans and flag any issues before they’re locked in. Worst case, before the frames go up.
Do you work with my builder, or do I hire you directly?
Either works. Some clients put us in direct contact with the builder. Others have us contract through the builder. Whatever’s easiest.
Can I add smart home wiring and AV in a new build?
Yes, and a new build is the best time to do it. Cabling for sound, networking, cameras, and home automation goes in cheap at prewire stage. Adding it later costs four times as much.
How much does new build electrical cost?
Varies hugely by house size, complexity, and how much smart wiring or feature lighting you want. A standard 3-bedroom home runs different to a 5-bedroom architect-designed place with full AV integration. We quote based on your plans.
